What we saw:
5 male Ring-neck ducks
Vegetation along the edges of the pond
Ducks were near the edges of the far end of the pond

Shawnee Twin Lakes (The Old Lake-northeast side)

Weather: 54 degrees F, overcast, breezy

What we saw:
5 Pied-billed Grebes swimming away from us; north side of lake; triangular bill
3 Ring-billed Gulls flying
4 Doubled-crested Cormorants flying
2 American coots
1 Great Blue Heron

Other things at the lake:
5 trucks
4-6 people there before us
1 noisy machine
The shore is rocky and there is trash around the area; not much vegetation along the sides of the lake; the far side of the lake has some grass.

Shawnee Twin Lakes (The New Lake)

Weather: 55 degrees F, overcast, breezy

What we saw:
2 Northern Harrier Hawks flying
1 Killdeer; it was singing
1 male Northern Shoveler flying
12 Ring-billed Gulls in a flock
3 Double-crested Cormorants in the middle of the lake and then flew away
1 Pied-billed Grebe

*One cormorant flew from the Old Lake to the New Lake

*The Old Lake is larger than the New Lake
